Can’t Login to Your Patient Portal

Having trouble logging into your patient portal? We’re here to help.

What is a patient portal?

A patient portal is a website that has all of your medical information with your doctor at a healthcare provider.

What you can do if you can’t login to your patient portal

  1. Check your password manager

  2. Check your email

  3. Register for an account

  4. Reset password

  5. Check to see if your healthcare organization changed

Check your password manager

If your browser is auto-filling your passwords, so you can log in but you're not sure what your password is - check out our post on how to see your saved passwords. Not the problem?

Check your email

Search your email for the name of your doctor, or the healthcare organization.

Does the email indicate a username that's different from your email address - or different from what you typically use?

Do you have an email with an activation code for your online account? If you do, and you realize that you have not activated the account, keep reading.

Register for an account

I have an activation code, and it hasn't expired

You're in luck! Navigate to the login page for this patient portal. (Can't find the login page? From your Wingspan account, click Connect in upper right hand corner. Select the state and organization, and navigate to step 3. Click on the button in the center of the page to jump to the login page for that organization) Look for a link to activate your account.

I have an activation code, and it has expired

Close, but no cigar! Unfortunately an expired code can't do much for you. Follow the next set of instructions for not having a code.

I don't have an activation code

Navigate to the login page for this patient portal. (Stuck? From your Wingspan account, click Connect in upper right hand corner. Select the state and organization, and navigate to step 3. Click on the button in the center of the page to jump to the login page for that organization) Look for a link to create an account. You may need to provide personal details so that the organization can confirm your identity.

There's no way to create an account online

Unfortunately some organizations don't allow patients to create an account online. They require you to call or come in to get an access code. See if you can find information on your organization's website, or call the desk and ask for a code when they're open. Annoying, yes - but you only have to do it once!

Reset Password

May you remember logging into this account, but can't remember your password. Was this the account that made you add letters and numbers and symbols? Or caps? We hear you. We've been there. There should be a link to reset your password from the login screen. If there isn't a link, and the office makes you call to reset your password, feel free to vent to us on twitter.

Check to see if your healthcare organization changed

Has your healthcare organization changed? Have you gotten any emails or updates from your doctor's office, letting you know that they've merged with another organization? If so, your login credential or the website you need to log into may have changed.

This varies significantly depending on how the organization handle the merger. See if you can find information (either in your email, or on the login screen for your old account) and follow the organization's instructions. If you're still not sure, check the organization's website or call your doctor's office.
